The Ports of call on cruises to Walvis Bay

Cape Town, South Africa

Located on theCape Town is a beautiful city located on the southwestern coast of Africa. The first people to settle in the area now known as Cape Town were the San Bushmen, who arrived around 20,000 years ago. Followed by the first European settlers arrived in the Cape in 1652, when a group of Dutch sailors led by Jan van Riebeeck landed at Table Bay.

Van Riebeeck had been sent by the Dutch East India Company to establish a way station where ships traveling to East Africa on their way to India and from Asia could stop for supplies. Cape Town is now the second main cruise port in South Africa, just after Durban.

Walvis Bay, Namibia

Walvis Bay is a bustling port city located on the coast of Namibia. From here, passengers can take day trips to the nearby towns of Swakopmund, or head out into the stunning Namib Desert. The city is also home to a variety of shops and restaurants, making it the perfect stop for those looking to explore everything this beautiful country has to offer.

As the city is in a natural lagoon, one of the best ways to enjoy its outstanding natural beauty is so sit in one of the restaurants and have some homegrown walvis Bay Oysters. Unfortunately, despite the city name (aka whales bay) cruises will probably not see many whales as the whales watching season is typically from June to November.

Ludertiz, Namibia

Situated on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, Luderitz is a small town in Namibia that offers a wealth of history and outdoor adventure. From the town's charming Dutch colonial-era architecture to its stunningly rugged coastline.
